We added a sunshield a year ago and think it is great. I went to WalMart,
bought some dark tint film and installed the film on the plastic. Solves the
problem of direct sun and gives some shade . I did it in a hurry and have a few
bubbles in the tint, but when we do the Annual we plan to remove it and redo
the tint. I have checked at all tint dealers and cannot locate anyone that will
tint the plastic other than applying the tint film.

It slides a little difficult but when 2 of us fly we just slide it to one
side, get in, slide it to the other side, other person gets in and then bring
the shade to top center.

  Subject: [ercoupe-tech] Sun Shield

My coupe has a sunshield over my head, a tinted piece of clear plastic that
basically slides around from side to side, but if you leave it in the center,
both windows pull up to and latch onto it.
I think it is original equipment, but I seldom see others with this. Is it
just an aggravation to entrance and has been removed, or was it ever standard
equipment? With my bald head and living in a sunny area, I need the protection,
and it looks like it would help keep the cockpit cooler when parked, I am
considering adding some more tint in the form of the plastic film type.
Comments?..
