Excello fuel injection was available on small continentals. The parts and mfg support for them dried up years ago. Most mechanics are not familiar with them and they are really sensitive to adjustment. Before considering changing over be sure you have maintenance support and ALL the parts necessary.
The boss on the lower front crankcase must be equiped for a special fuel pump, and you must have the camshaft that is equiped with drive for that pump. You woud have to have an engine with the J prefix, designed for the fuel injection. The O-200 does have a similar boss, usually used for a vacuum pump but not sure if the drive train is the same. That being said, there are sure to be complications using it with the unique Ercoupe fuel system. Most engines were converted to carburation years ago for the above stated reasons. When operating correctly they were great, and were in demand for aerobatic applications. Does someone have a STC to do so? What do you guys (gals) think of replacing our old carb with a fuel-injection system? There is one available out on ebay and it states it's even for a c-85 (though that doesn't make it necessarily so). I would just like to get your thoughts on this or even if it's possible.
