True ultralights are allowed up to 254 pounds empty weight.  An additional
24 pounds is allowed for a BRS without having to weigh it.  This is just to
cover the regulatory paperwork.

In reality, it does add 20-24 pounds or whatever of actual gross weight.

In Coupes, we're bumping up against a regulatory limit, not an airplane
structural limit.  Who wants to try to persuade the FAA to allow the BRS
additional weight without counting it against the 1320 pound LSA limit?
