The aeromatic was a problematic prop. That is why you do not see them very often.
As I recall there are some pretty ferocious ADs on them http://www.monocoupe.com/AeromaticPropDocs/FAAConcern20001011.pdf They predated small aluminum props and as soon as the aluminum props became widely available the aeromatics were replaced.
