I posted a while back about a fuel smell in the cockpit only when descending. It got worse, but during my trip throughout Louisiana and Texas last week I realized my primer was the problem! I thought it had been to easy to operate the primer, so at one stop I tightened it down. It was loose, so I got it as snug as I could and still operate it. Voila! No more fuel smell on descent.
So, why did it not smell in cruise but only when the nose was pointing down? I can't figure that out. But, regardless, that had to be the problem. At least it was a simple fix! Larry in Missouri N99340
