Are you planning on doing the same with the top of the wing to center section
space. I am about to mount the new wings of my wood spar J3 Cub onto the
fuselage and I will do likewise to prevent water and dust from getting in.
Please take photos and post them of your Coupe job.  Rain water can often be on
the acid side of pH.
Also should be a discusion on methods of keeping mice out of wings and
fuselages of coupes..

We are recoving the wings on my airplane and took off the grade A cotton
that was put on in 1992 and was just on the cusp of failing test.  We were
really surprised when we opened up the wings and found nice, bright, shiny ribs
looking like they had just rolled out of the factory.  Also noticed that the
intrusion of dirt & etc. into the inner wing structure is from the seam between
the outer/inner wing which is nearly aligned with the main gear.  Found some
dirt and debris in the inner wing structure and I think landing on wet/grass
runways throws a lot of junk up into the wing through that seam.  I'm thinking
of sealing the bottom of that junction off with some kind of tape to keep the
water out after we remount the wings and before we put the aluminum junction
strips back on.  Any thoughts?
