I have been flying with Clarity Aloft in my 'coupe for several years. Work great open cockpit, even above what buffeting I get when all the way open. I chose Clarity aloft after actually trying noise cancelling headsets in my 'coupe from David Clark, Bose and Telex. The Clarity Aloft cut the same amount of noise, but in a different frequency than the electronic noise cancelling headsets -i.e. "sounds different" but are just as quiet - not louder... just using the foam in-ear plugs, and I can always hear the radio transmissions. They are also the best/bar none/ when you consider you can wear any hat you choose, (full brim is nice) as they don't go over the top of your head. They use a very small wire around the back of your head, and hang over the top of your ears, but as Linda says, you can't really feel them -and don't bother my glasses. I also have the AvMap GPS. Got rid of the Lowrance - I couldn't see it in the brightness of the 'coupe cockpit. The AvMap uses a different type of screen technology that seems to work really well in our environment. Besides, they have a really large display, and are pretty cheap as compared to the Garmin options. (I have the AvMap, not the "Plus" version - if you want weather display, you have to have the higher priced version. Mine is just the plain cheap one.) -Ron Black N93394
