Yes, I also had the same problem with my Magellan car GPS, but at least I had 
owned it for about 6 years.  Then I took it to a place that sells things on 
Ebay, and they actually sold it for about $120!  I got about $80 from them.  
Maybe the guys with Lowrance GPS's can do the same thing.
