I was under the impression the Bellveille Springs needed to be "loaded" to get proper height and action. If you can put the snap ring on with out compressing the assembly there is not total lifting of the springs. This is my understanding of their funtion. Should there not be enough shims under the springs to have to compress the stack to put the snap ring in?
