I was under the impression the Bellveille Springs needed to be "loaded" to get proper height and action. If you can put the snap ring on with out compressing the assembly there is not total lifting of the springs. This is my understanding of their funtion. Should there not be enough shims under the springs to have to compress the stack to put the snap ring in? I'm looking at Forney Drawing F33253S which states that the Belleville spring pack should have a maximum clearance of 1/16th of an inch. If the 1/16th is exceeded than use spacers F33254 under the bottom dished washer to take up the slack. Cheers: Paul N1431A ---
