After painting my wings, my mechanic, (some years ago), installed the 
hinges on top of the wing.  I immediately noticed a reduction in speed, but the 
real kicker was that the airplane would not climb above 6,000 feet, even with 
just me on board.  I did some checking against other 'Coupes and corrected the 
position to under the T.E. and returned the plane to its previous performance.  
Since then I have noticed many 'Coupes with the hinges installed incorrectly 
and have tried to inform the owners, when I could locate them.  It makes a BIG
