Hi Donald

Could you please be more specific?
My aileron hinges are on top of my wings and I also experienced a significant
slow speed compared with what should be the normal for a 415C (Cruise no more
than 90mph).
Where those hinges should be?

Thanks

After painting my wings, my mechanic, (some years ago), installed the
hinges on top of the wing.  I immediately noticed a reduction in speed, but the
real kicker was that the airplane would not climb above 6,000 feet, even with
just me on board.  I did some checking against other 'Coupes and corrected the
position to under the T.E. and returned the plane to its previous performance.
Since then I have noticed many 'Coupes with the hinges installed incorrectly
and have tried to inform the owners, when I could locate them.  It makes a BIG
difference!  Don, in Woodland, California
