Hi all
I'm cross posting this to Arocket and ERPS mailing
lists.
The first (?) dry lubricant from Applied
nanomaterials. http://www.apnano.com/
It's made of tiny in-organic balls.
Should be good in extreme conditions like vacuum or
cold.
Dr. Rafi Yoely is about to start flight testing of
his flying car any day now.
I actually saw the thing being taken to Ben-gurion
airport !
I was driving along and I saw a 4x4 with a trailer
carrying a weird shape covered in grey cloth, I nearly wet myself with
excitement. Later it was confirmed in the newspaper.
The car is powered by 4 diesel's driving 2 fans,
with one engine out capability.
Control is accomplished with lots of vanes like
window shutters covering the fans.
It's supposed to carry two people for one hour at
100kph.
There's no web site but Yoeli is co-founder of http://www.aero-marine.design-development.com/
Now for the best part: TRIZ !
If any of you don't know what TRIZ is then you're
in for a treat.
TRIZ is Russian for Teorya Rishanye Izabritzelnyi
Zadach.
A theory for solving inventive
problems.
It's an amazing methodology designed to help solve
technical contradictions.
It helps define problems, free your mind from
patterns and direct you to unconventional solutions.
Here's a basic overview http://www.mazur.net/triz/
Other good sources are www.triz.org and http://www.triz-journal.com
TRIZ is bigger then DTC, VE, Taguchi and kaisen all
together.
Have fun !
