Yahoo! Groups is broken for various reasons I won't go too far into here. Not all of the data we will be posting via groupware is public, and there isn't much point in using somebody's broken public groupware system if we have to set up a separate system for the private stuff anyway. Plus, we have the skills and the resources, so why should we put up with ads?
