We had to add a pressure gauge to our press (a damn good idea!), so we don't have perfect calibration. I usually note down our "indicated psi" from the press, which is roughly half the pounds of force the press is currently exerting. For the 2" engines, we press to an indicated 1500 psi, which is about 3000 pounds of force over 3.14 square inches of catalyst pack, or about 950 psi on the catalyst pack. I used somewhat more pressure on the 1" engines (500 psi indicated), but the 2" ones still seem to work fine. I was forced to use less pressure on the 5.5, because our gauge only goes up to 5000 psi, which only works out to around 400 psi on the pack at that size.
