Two recent stories on Space.com caught my eye:

This is about the upgrades to both the telescope (movine to Parkes)
and the software (integration with other projects) used for the
Seti@Home client. Of particular interest is their opening up the
software to other number-intensive scientific applications. We have
discussed an "ERPS@Home" project to do flight simulations but have gotten
far on it because other projects had a higher priority. Perhaps we
won't have to write all the code, just a module.

This one is about Armadillo's "manned hop" flight and their intention
to file their X-Prize papers.
