Heck yeah, at least they would have had a chance to say goodbye to
family/friends if there was no chance of rescue.
Not to mention that the term 'reality TV' all of a sudden would take on a
whole new meaning. It would be like Apollo 13 all over again but potentially
for much longer.
I wonder if someone really halted a check in order to prevent bad news from
getting out?
