I think Armadillo has done a good job showing that it isn't engines that fail. It's all the stuff that controls them and makes them part of a propulsion system. Engines can and do fail, of course; but if it happens in flight, you arguably didn't do enough static testing. And manifolds are no one's friends. Except maybe Doug's. :-) Come to think of it...has ERPS ever had an engine problem in flight?
