reminds me that one-pixel bug in the corners of the selection
rectangle in OS X's Finder  :D

Granted, the dimmed versions are not so disturbing... But IMHO it's
very important that the separators don't replace proper spacing
(because the spacing is more robust to bad visual conditions)
