Toast came bundled with my LaCie 4x burner--Toast 3x. In 1998. That's obsolete on my OS X machine. > > I would not steal software and resent the allegation. Well, if you have an earlier version of Toast, that does not entitle you to free upgrades. If it did, Toast would have offered it on their site (www.roxio.com, IIRC). So maybe you're just unknowledgeable about the subject, but you're wrong. What you just asked for is for someone to assist you in committing a federal crime. > I figured that there is no better place to get some help in burning > cd's than a group dedicated to the proliferation of good music. > Agreed. > I have been using this group for a long time and have met and dealt > with many good people. I guess I just look at the negative side of people: 1. Using etree lists to openly violate federal copyright law 2. Asking someone to engage in a conspiracy with you to break those laws 3. Making silly accusations about someone you don't know. What you know about me: I think you made a serious error in asking this list to help you steal software (and ignorance of the law is not an excuse). What I know about you: You asked the etree discussion list to help you steal software. Whether you like it or not, this is not the place to make such requests. It's off-topic. It's against the law. And whether you agree with a software company's upgrade policy, or whether you think you're entitle to every future release of Toast is irrelevant. Those who know me on this list (and on the siteop's list) know that I am as helpful as I can be when people ask for help. I agree that some folks look only at the negative and are quick to flame. But that aint me, brother. You stepped over a serious line here, and you owe the list an apology. Jeff > > Sorry for this WOB, I just felt the need to respond.
