This isn't entirely correct. ValuLife are the plain white faced ones, DataLife Plus are not. Also, Verbatim CDs are made by either CMC Magnetics or Mitsubishi Chemical Corp (I can't remember). Neither of these manufacturers are as reputable as Taiyo Yuden (who makes Fujis) or Mitsui. Taiyo Yuden's and Mitsui's are made in Japan.
