Tom set your e-mail client to make is so there is a difference between your
post and the one your replying to or at least add your name at the bottom of
your message.

To clear things up ipconfig works from a command prompt in all versions of
windows.  ifconfig works in most *nix systems.  And winipcfg is a graphical
front end for Win 95, 98, & ME.  To run this just go to run and type
"winipcfg" (no quotes).  If your on w2k or XP go to run and type "cmd", then
on the command line type ipconfig.  Yes this will just give you your local
IP which may be different from your IP the outside world in which case refer
to the links posted to double check how your system is set up.
