The FPU is not necessary for Linux. Linux runs on 68k machines as well as
StrongARMS which also don't have FPUs. (IIRC the motto of one
Linux/StrongARM project was, "FPU?!? We don't need no stinkin' FPU!"

What yer lookin' fer is linux/mac68k. The linux/mac68k project happens to
be temporarily on hold while it moves it's webstuff to
SourceForge. Here's their old home page, should be helpful:
