Hey-
Now I was introduced to sftp last week, showed it to my sys admin and he
wants to support it and have people using it instead of ftp! Cool! what's
the web site for this and what are the requirments for sftping into a
computer, I can't seem to sftp to anywhere.
Oh and one more thing when I ssh into my the math linux cluster I get the
error "unknown terminal xterm-debian" and I can't run anything (pine, pico
emacs vi). I'm pals with the sys admin but what does the cluster need for
this to work?
Last a few more questions about
adding sources
to apt-get First what do the deb main stable contrib non-free params mean?

I want to add lyx and I don't know how to add sites, the ftp site for lyx
is ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx

and once I add a source is that all I have to do?

thanks
Francis
