An OS-independent word of caution here. We purchased a Vaio at
work and it shipped with some broken hardware. I was *never* able
to reach a Sony tech support person to diagnose the issues-- over
5 days' time, the closest I ever got was a busy signal. The upshot
is that it went back from whence it came and I replaced it with a
Dell, where I *never* have problems contacting a tech support rep
when I have hardware difficulties.
I know Sonys are "cool," but I tend to purchase from where tech
support is of a better quality, like Dell or IBM. BTW, Dell and IBM
laptops also come with 3-year warranties.
Just MHO.
