maybe having a sort of guided tour of the command line and the filesystem
would be helpful, i know that i ended up picking a lot of things up sort
of by osmosis and time consuming study that i could have learned in much
less time had there been a tutor available.
maybe also topics like vi and emacs, since everybody needs an editor
