Ripping and encoding through Globecom. One click rips, encodes, and enters into the database. Read the CD in 5 minutes, encoded it in 20 minutes. Haven't tried grip. I'm ripping and encoding and jukeboxing on one of the Celeron 466 boxes. No problems yet, though I've only done one CD. Mp3. For my first CD, I used lame's --r3mix preset, which is 128k VBR with various other options. http://www.r3mix.net/ It turns out that you can't really use VBR with icecast (I think). I did not know that. So either I'll re-rip with CBR or I'll figure out a way to re-encode on the fly. I have the icecast server set up, but I don't have the jukebox talking to it. -- Bob Miller K<bob> kbobsoft software consulting http://kbobsoft.com [EMAIL PROTECTED]
