Hum, I guess I was just thinking of it [boot] as pre-userland.  You'd 
need /home to get into "userland"...
Unless you set the user home directories to exist elsewhere!

Poll: Do you use auto-login?  (Does your machine *not* prompt for login 
after powering on?)
