the linux binaries for "return to castle wolfenstein" came out a couple of days ago. i decided to brave overloaded servers today and managed to snag the package.
it runs quite nice. a little more choppy than winXP (i'll have to actually check this. i haven't booted XP in about a month...) i'm looking for ways to optimize the performance, tho. anybody know any tweaks for Q3A (the engine RTCW uses)? any tweaks for X under a radeon? is there a faster kernel than 2.4.17 (must have it's features!)? anybody know how to shut off that damn desktop thing that nautilus sets up?!? i have a sneaking suspicion this is causing slowdowns... gawd, there's so much junk loading under Ximian/Redhat! must... complete... LFS... thanks in advance! (note to self : fdisk /dev/hdb && mk2efs <winXP partition>) ===== Justin Bengtson @euglug=(v+ e- eug++ bsd? gnu++ s++) [EMAIL PROTECTED] "i called some kid 'b' the other day. it's the price you pay for living hip-hop every day of your life."
