You're right.  I was reflecting old rumors I'd heard of people having 
tulip troubles with the 2.2 kernel.  Most likely all those problems 
were resolved long ago, probably in 2.2.19, and surely quite dead in 
2.2.21.  BTW, are 2.4 kernel-images still available for Potato?
