Tim, That's what capitalism does to everything it touches, not just the media (energy, transportation, housing, farming, medicine, education, software, government, etcetera.) As Buckminster Fuller, an engineer who addressed all of these problems, stated "You can either make money or you can make sense." Good housing design, efficient transportation systems, renewable energy, innovative educational systems, and progressive government are thwarted by an economic system that has only short-term profits as its guiding principles. The rich aren't interested in finding real solutions, they already have it pretty good, they just perpetuate whatever problems happen to be causing cash to flow their way.
