If you're talking OpenBSD, it does not support FireWire, or even USB 2.0,
officially anyway, *some* of the code is there.  I think you're stuck with
something that can work with bktr(4) if you want to work with OpenBSD.

I have no idea about BeOS, but Linux has several video capture drivers.
