It converts most MS Office documents, and reads WordPerfect files, and writes to many formats, including 3 different versions of WordPerfect. > Photoshop ---------------- "What Linux Program?" You'll probably get a lot of votes for The Gimp with this - from what I understand, it is more then capable of anything that Photoshop can do. My experience has been that it is a steeper learning curve coming from earlier versions of Photoshop - any version of Photoshop after about version 5 should be an easier curve. > Acrobat-Distiller -------- "What Linux Program?" I have recently discovered the beauty of Lyx as a document editor. (www.lyx.org) It does an incredible job of exporting to .pdf files (I can provide a sample if you like) and is quite easy to use. That's just a start on the effortless export I've found. I can't speak for the other programs that you're trying to match - but I'm sure you'll hear from others. For background, I was a Windows user until Jan/Feb. I've converted over almost completely, and have started writing up technical docs in these Linux programs. Oh, and I've spent all of about $60 on software since then. --PC -- P Casper <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> _______________________________________________ Eug-LUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mailman.efn.org/cgi-bin/listinfo/eug-lug
