Huh, 'dd' to extract ISOs? Why? 'readcd' is the way to extract the ISO image from a CD. readcd comes with cdrtools (except, of course, most linux distros will subpackage the cdrtools package into several small packages ... I mean, good Lord, why install an extra program when it can be packaged separately ... this is about *MY* choice and configurability, right. Who are you to tell me these programs go together?!! Sorry, but it just seems like more trouble than it's worth.). And then mount the image on a virtual/loop device. Can't mount; can't explore the filesystem -> bad extraction. And the once the ISO is mounted, and the CD also, there are all sorts of ways to compare the filesystems. -- <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> _______________________________________________ Eug-LUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mailman.efn.org/cgi-bin/listinfo/eug-lug
