The big advantage to replying to the group, especially when answering
a technical question, is that the answer is archived on the web.
Google will pass our answers on an unknown number of times.  That's
why I try to always reply-to-group.  You're right that it generates
a lot of traffic.  But sometimes it leads into interesting
discussions, and we learn what the others are working on.

"Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day.  Publish a map of
the fishing hole, and they'll build a chemical plant there."
Or something like that...

I, for one, appreciated the link.  Gonna have to vote for someone
next year, unless Bush suspends general elections in the name of
security, and it's time to start looking at the candidates, sorry
though they may be.
