Yes, I am also in this "boat" with John -- I haven't tried wings though,
but had a similar experience with moonlight3d; in about 1/2 hour I had
figured out how to begin creating some shapes and things, whereas
blender confused the heck out of me, I just didn't "get it" quickly
enough to keep going with it...  now, if only my laptop had good 3D!
