With aprox 90% of the market, shouldnt they be expected to support all hardware? This computer currently has SP1 installed. its true that the card is old (10BT), but far from rare, SMC makes lots of networking stuff, and has for quite a while. : : Linux does have an advantage in that (in my experience) the older and : cheaper the hardware is, the more likely it is that some poor hacker was : forced to use the hardware, and wrote a driver for it. yeah... many by Mr. Becker. : : Windows is the opposite. I have a couple comming in the mail, but they are ebay items, so I dont know if they will work, and they may be missing drivers, and cables (if required). I will likely wipe out the XP anyway, but it would be nice to be able to use it right now... it will have slackware on it as I get the oportunity to put it on.
