Yeah - NetBSD. Really. I'm running on SS1+, SS2, SS5 and a SS20.
Runs well and its small enough to do a network install - even over
a dial-up connection. X runs fine with a lightweight window manager
like twm or wmx but you'll only get 8 bpp on the monitor.
