I don't have the time to properly respond to this now, but I will just say
in brief that Eric is equally dangerous IMO in a completely different
direction.

Richard will alienate people to get what he wants even if it is not
absolutely necessary.  Eric will placate anyone to get them to support
open source and gain him more notoriety.  Both are bad things.
