Comparing ripwire to WiMax is ludicrous--particularly considering that
WiMax is not in Eugene.
Acknowledging that the technology is similar to ripwire--essentially a
cell phone hooked to your USB port or whatever--I know folks in Europe,
Japan and South America who have a calm and steady 40-50 mb/sec dload
speeds--and over 30mb/sec upload speed.
Momentary twitches and the like are latent to the wireless
phenomenon--and for some, wireless will never be the dead-reliable
internet access they require for long-term system monitoring and the like.
I'm just tickled to see bombast wet its pants trying to keep WiMax out
of amerika. (Last survey yielded an average US dollar cost for WiMax at
less than 30 bux a month).

Well, consider that Clearwire *IS* WiMax and at present the
coverage is spotty and the speeds suck when you don't have full
