Firstly it's not a WinModem. I know this because I had originally bought it
for my mac back in 97'. I know that Ubuntu doesn't (or didn't) have any problem
with finding the modem or dialing up the AOL server (and even connecting). My
problem is, that if I just use the ppp client in Ubuntu, AOL terminates the
session immediately. When Neil and I checked out what was going on, we found
that there was some authentication issue on their end, thus why I am trying to
get Peng to work. It is an Aol dial-up program. We (or rather I should say NEIL)
got it up and running, but we were connecting via an ethernet connection, so now
when I try to connect, Peng can't find my modem. In any case I think Mike and
Neil both tracked it down close enough that I think I might be able to figure it
out from here, I'll keep you guys posted as to my progress!
