I second the recommendation for Truecrypt. I'm currently working on deploying a bunch of USB sticks with it on it in my company. It's a nice piece of software. One caveat to be aware of is that the "traveler mode" will only work on a computer that either already has Truecrypt installed on it or you have admin rights to. If you need to access your encrypted data on a computer where neither of things statements are true, you need to use TCExplorer, http://sourceforge.net/projects/tcexplorer . There is some debate amongst the Truecrypt community as to whether one should use TCE or not. It effectively opens your TC container like a zip file, and allows you to drag and drop files to and from the container. It's usable if you must get at your data, but it breaks a lot of security rules, so the real "hardcore" sec guys cry real loud when someone suggests it. For the common case though, it's a real useful tool. -ajb > _______________________________________________ > EUGLUG mailing list > [email protected] > http://www.euglug.org/mailman/listinfo/euglug > -- -Regards- -Quentin Hartman-
