I throw Comcast my nearly $60 a month for what is a considerably
better deal than what Qwest can do for me. Until we have a more
open free market or government backed broadband then I'll settle
on that cost. What I will not do is pay for the bandwidth I use
as those costs would be ridiculous.
Clearwire cannot compete with a landline and will not likely
ever see my money. And until Qwest drops the hefty surcharge
because I don't use any other services then they won't see my
money either. It's not likely Verizon would be poking any of
their fiber down here before DOCSIS 3 either.
So, unless you think you can do better than Comcast for less
money as far as raw download speeds are concerned then keep the
trash talk to a minimum. Throttled or not, the content I'm
legally acquiring has never seemed to suffer. Yes, out of
network torrents get hit and reset but that's also on the head
end where packet sniffers by your friends at RIAA & MPAA are
watching what you're doing. The ISP can't be at fault for what
our government allows corporate America to get away with.
That be all,
Mr O.
