Consider getting a hardware modem. US Robotics has a nice USB modem that works with Linux but it isn't cheap. Somewhere in the $60 to $70 if I recall. Otherwise, pick up an external USR from someplace like NextStep or if you're outside Eugene then any Goodwill/St Vinnies. There are still internal hardware modems as well. Expect between $35 and $50 on those.
As for calling you... the LUG doesn't typically operate on calling people. It is a collaboration by many people and all "support" (I use that term loosely as it is not a requirement for anyone to do anything as we are not being paid for it) is done through the mailing list and local meetings. --- On Sun, 4/26/09, Robert Douglass <[email protected]> wrote: > From: Robert Douglass <[email protected]> > Subject: [Eug-lug] Need Help linux and windoz > To: [email protected] > Date: Sunday, April 26, 2009, 10:09 PM > I am trying to work out some problems, I like and want to > run linux, but at the present time my only internet access > is through an AT&T phone modem.
