Optimas are expensive, but not that expensive. See David Roden's post below for figures. Note that you are getting real world, not spec AH as well.
---------------------- For AGMs, this is true. Here's a cost computation for Optimas: Optima D750S (from Uve's page) Price ~$130 in small quantity Mass = 20.5kg Capacity 125 min @ 25a => 52ah Capacity 47ah @ 75 amps (estimated) => 564 Wh Capacity 624 Wh at Specific energy = 27.5 Wh/kg Cycle life 220 @ 80% DOD From: "John G. Lussmyer": Well, in the 6 months I've been driving my Sparrow (-2 1/2 months of crash/broken/sick time) I've put 3000 miles on it. The 13 Optima YT's were new when I started. This is about 120 charge cycles where I pulled about 5KW from the pack each time (about 32AH, both numbers from the EMeter). I've had Reg MKII's installed almost the entire time. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Faith Hill - Exclusive Performances, Videos & More http://faith.yahoo.com
