I received that message on an address that was not subscribed. ... Peter, before you assume that the EV List members addresses have been harvest via the yahoo.group EV Lsit archive, I have to point out, that the crest archive is much easier to get the email addresses without being subscribed. See http://crest.org/discussion/ev/200210/maillist.html
If you are not subscribed to the yahoo.group EV List Archive, you can not read the addresses. I have a petition process that filters most automated SPAM (all the groups I support get a ton of those every day), and internet troll attacks (people trying sneek in to do nasty deeds). The yahoo.group EV List archive is not inprevious to harvesting, but it is a lot harder to do than the crest archive. I have found harvesters follow the path of least work. I let some people on the yahoo.group EV List archive as a convience (it has some features that are nice), but I could send a message why, and then removed their subscription. This would removed your concerns that the yahoo.group EV List archive is the source of the harvesting 9and all the former members would have be unhappy with you). But there are two things to remember even after I have removed them, the harvest list is already compiled, and it is easier to get the addresses directly from the crest EV List archive. -Bruce ===== ' ____ ~/__|o\__ '@----- @'---(= . http://geocities.com/brucedp/ .
