What happened to the their EV sound similar to what happened to my S-10
Blazer EV conversion (after 15 years, I was in the wrong place at the
wrong time). The vehicle was not worth repairing but all the EV guts
were still good.

I was able to sell the whole wrecked EV to a couple of men who said they
were converting a light truck to daily commute between Campbell, up over
the Santa Cruz (~2000') mountains down to Santa Cruz (near the Pacific
Ocean. Here's a map
http://goo.gl/maps/SmDWH
). It may be about ~30 miles as the crow flies but is about 55+ miles
worth of energy. I suggested a higher voltage design than mine, and to
include a j1772 adapter to use with one of my six on-board chargers.

So somewhere out there, is a conversion still driving on my 15 year old
EV parts.
% EVs are like Mom's ol' Maytag washer, they just keep going, and going,
and ... %

...
Similar to the above, anyone considering doing a conversion near
Seattle, WA may want to check-out this wrecked conversion (below). It
may have many if not all the parts you will need to build your own EV
conversion. Contact them (below) and see what works for you.
