But they are dealers. At least with the major car dealers if you

You would think so, wouldn't you? But I *have* walked into our local
dealers, and tried. They don't want to order an EV. They don't want to
train their people on how to service it, or have to stock parts to fix it.

A friend went around to all the Minneapolis area Chevy dealers, and bought a Volt. They did everything they could to discourage him. They did have one, but hid it way in the back of the lot, parked in with all their other cars in front of it so no one could test drive it.

A client I work with wanted to get some EVs as pizza delivery vehicles. No dealer in the Minneapolis area would sell him any. He finally went to Chicago, and found a dealer who would get him four Mitsubishi MiEVs, which he then had to truck to Minneapolis. And of course, they told him "You're on your own, pal! Service them yourself!"

And, I'm a long way from Minneapolis. Even if I bought one there, none of these EVs have enough range to drive it home.

Maybe these factory EVs will get here someday... but they haven't yet. :-(
