I agree with the quote.
Grrr and the flat earth people warned the sailors not to sail too far out
to sea or they might sail off the edge. There is some good information on
> hydrogen and fuel cells at Knowledge Publications.com That is if you
don't mind wasting your time.

Comparing the panic concerns of the willfully uneducated with thoughtful
analysis people who actually know what they are talking about is your first
problem. Lets just focus on one part, the fuel cell, after all other than
the fuel cell its just an electric vehicle (yes I'm ignoring complexities).
The Honda FCX Clarity is the most widely publicised example, so I'll be
using it. The FCX Clarity sits in roughly the same position in the market
that the high-end Honda Civic or Accord, the difference will be completely
irrelevant in a moment, but these are $20-25,000 vehicles. Just the platinum
needed to make the FCX Clarity was estimated to be well in excess of
$300,000, and there were some estimates that each vehicle cost $1.2 million.
Now the real question is: Do you know anyone who would pay $300,000 for a
Honda Civic? I certainly don't. Sure the technology works, but the scarcity
of the absolutely critical metal, and the fact that mass production would
actually drive the price of the metal UP makes hydrogen-electric vehicles a
complete waste of time. Research into fuel cells does make sense, but don't
bet on there being any value in them in your lifetime.
