Wait. Really? Eight thousand cells??? Yikes! No wonder it took 2 years
to assemble!

Let's see ... batteryspace.com has a generic 18650; in quantities of 100 or
more it's $4.46 each. Eight thousand of those would cost $35,680. Even
their cheapest Chinese-made cell - definitely not a Panasonic - is $4.05
each for a total of $32,400. Yeow!

Uhm, the capacity doesn't add up, either. Those cheap cells are rated 2.2ah
at 3.7v, or 8.14Wh per cell, which almost certainly has to be less than top
quality Panasonics. At 8000 cells, though, that would be a total capacity
of 65kWh, over twice what you quoted.

Unless you really do mean that your battery delivered 32kW (power) and not
32kWh (capacity). (The casual interchange of kW and kWh units among EV
hobbyists makes me crazy.) But even then ... again those cheap cells are
rated for a maximum power of 15.9W each; 8000 of them would deliver over
127kW, so that can't be right either.

I must have misunderstood you. Maybe 8k cells doesn't mean 8000 cells?
Maybe that's a type number or something? Help me out here.
